Who we Are
Breaking Healthcare Barriers (BHB) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in South Florida, dedicated to providing accessible healthcare for Jamaica’s underserved communities.

BHB was founded by Raymond Levy, a seasoned entrepreneur with a passion for healthcare, particularly the underserved. Under his leadership, a curated team of volunteer healthcare professionals (doctors, dentists, optometrists, nurses, EMTs, etc.) are organized to provide free access to primary and preventative care services. The volunteers deliver free vision, dental, and primary care services through annual health fairs in rural communities of Jamaica.

Our Mission
To provide free access to primary and preventative care services through future health fairs which will positively impact long term patient outcomes in the Chapelton community and other rural areas of Jamaica.

Our Vision
Our vision is a community where everyone has equal access to quality healthcare and where preventive care is a priority.
Partnerships and Community Impact
Our medical missions are made possible through strong collaborations with academic institutions, local hospitals, and community health centers. We partner with the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies as well as Florida International University (FIU) Nursing School to send volunteer medical teams with supervised student rotations. By working closely with May Pen Hospital, Chapelton Hospital, and several community clinics, we ensure continuity of care and follow-up for patients long after each mission. These partnerships allow us to deliver free screenings, medications, health education, and essential dental services to rural communities across Jamaica.
We believe in breaking barriers to healthcare access, and empowering individuals to take control of their health.
