Help Families in Western Jamaica Rebuild Their Homes After Hurricane Melissa
The Jamaica Respect Foundation (JRF) is helping families rebuild through a building materials voucher program, and your help is vital! With your support and in collaboration with local hardware stores in Western Jamaica, our gift vouchers enable recipient families to choose and procure the building materials that they need urgently but cannot afford. About JRF & Our Sponsor US 501c3Fund Partner
Jamaica Respect Foundation (JRF) enables urgently needed building materials and roof-repair assistance for families devastated by Hurricane Melissa.Entire communities across western Jamaica have suffered catastrophic damage. Thousands of families have lost roofs, walls, windows, and in many cases their entire homes—leaving them exposed to the elements and unable to safely shelter their children.Breaking Healthcare Barriers (BHB) is proud to host the U.S. fundraising for the Jamaica Respect Foundation through a tax-deductible, distinctly accounted, restricted sub-fund.
How Your Donation Works
Through BHB’s restricted JRF Fund, U.S. donors can make tax-deductible contributions that directly support JRF’s emergency rebuilding efforts. Funds are used to provide hardware-store vouchers of J$100,000 (approximately US $625) to affected families. These vouchers can be redeemed at participating hardware stores to
acquire essential materials needed to repair damaged roofs, stabilize compromised structures, replace windows, doors and sheeting, as well as securing safe living conditions for their families.
